謙恭無禮易為勞 慎而無禮葸乃高 勇而無禮終必亂 直而無禮即成絞

無禮者不吉 ❃ 人類的生活，是由野蠻而文明，由低劣而高雅。這一軌跡的演進，是由聖人制定禮儀來規範人的行為，以促進人類的進步。謙、慎、勇、直，本來是人的美德，假如行之不當，則為幣病。即謙而無禮則易辛勞，慎而無禮則易畏懼，勇而無禮則易暴亂，直而無禮則易急切。由此可見，為人的本質固然要好，而表現本質的方法就必須守禮了。 ❃ 人而無禮，事業難成。
